Make your first pot!

Unbox your Mini 2 and throw your first cup

  1. Wedge your clay

Knead about 200g of clay to push out air bubbles, then roll it into a smooth ball.

  2. Set up your wheel

Attach a bat, plug in, and have water, a sponge and your tools ready. Try the speed control before adding clay.

  3. Centre & cone

Press the clay onto the middle of the bat. With wet hands and a fast wheel, cone it up and down, then smooth it into a steady dome.

  4. Open

Press your thumbs down the centre, leaving a base about 1 cm thick, then gently widen the floor.

  5. Pull up the walls

At a slower speed, pinch the wall and lift upward 2–3 times. Shape your cup, then sponge out any water.

  6. Wire off

Stop the wheel and pull your cutting wire tight underneath the pot.

  7. Swap bats

Lift the bat off with the pot still on it – don't pick up the wet pot. Pop on a fresh bat and throw your next one.

  8. Dry & fire

Once leather-hard, ease it off the bat. When it's bone dry, it's ready for the kiln.

FAQ

Orders

Can I use my own USB-C charger to power the Homespun Mini?

Yes, you can! To get the best performance, you'll need a charger that provides at least 40W.
Keep in mind that typical older phone chargers usually fall short of this, but newer fast chargers and laptop chargers often provide more than enough power.

Can I submerge the Homespun Mini in water to clean it?

In-short no
The Homespun Mini is not IP-rated and is not designed to be submerged in water. To clean the wheel, simply use a damp cloth or sponge to wipe away any excess clay.

What is the current lead time for the Homespun Mini?

We will ship your Homespun Mini within 3-10 business days.

What type of clay can I use on the Homespun Mini?

You can use any type of clay. If you don't have access to a kiln, air-dry clay is an alternative. Keep in mind air-dry clay is relatively more difficult to wheel-throw than traditional ceramic clay.

What is the warranty policy?

We provide a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty covering any product defects. If you experience any issues within this period, we will provide a repair or replacement.
